Day 2: What Mom Does That? What mom do you know who don’t  want to see her child do better than she did? What mom do you know who watches her child go through something hard and says, “you’re not built like me,” instead of “let me help”?What mom do you know who watches her child suffer until they finally beg for help, helps them, and then complains about it afterward? What mom do you know who comes and goes from her child’s life on her own terms, whenever it’s convenient for her? What mom do you know who says “I did X, Y, and Z for you, you owe me” — like love is a debt to collect? What mom?I’m thirty-nine years old. I have six children of my own. When I needed help, I took it. I humbled myself and thanked God for every single person who showed up for me — when I needed a ride to work, when I needed a job, when I needed childcare, when I needed money for Pampers, when I needed money for food. I know what it feels like to not have. So if I have, I help. That’s not complicated to me.What’s hard is being around someone who can’t even say they’re happy for you. Someone who watches you climb and finds satisfaction in your struggle instead of your success. That’s why you have to please God, not people. That’s why family doesn’t automatically mean love. Real love doesn’t hold help over your head. Real love doesn’t compete with you. Real love doesn’t sit back and enjoy watching you break. If you’re dealing with a parent who makes you question your worth, who shows up only when it benefits them, who criticizes more than they comfort — you’re not crazy, and you’re not wrong for protecting your peace. If it costs you peace, remove it.”Let the peace of God rule in your hearts…” — Colossians 3:15″Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee.” — Isaiah 26:3#Day2 #NarcissisticParents #ProtectYourPeace #FaithOverFear #BreakingCycles #FamilyHealing #ChristianMom #SingleMomLife #GodIsInControl #HealingJourney

Pondering

How do you instill things in your children that will help them grow and learn?

How do you get your children to understand how to be obedient and listen without overwhelming yourself?

I don’t want to keep using the same methods that didn’t get me anywhere with my older son with my younger children, so I tried to talk more and be more patient versus how I was with my older son and just discipline him every chance I got..

As I get older and my children grow older, it seems like talking to them at times feels like a lot like nobody is comprehending or understanding what it is that I’m trying to instill in them or teach them.

I grew up with several different ways of being disciplined and the ways that I chose to utilize what I was taught was not always good with my oldest child so I’m trying to be different with my other children…

What are some ways that you feel you can teach your children how to listen and understand what you’re teaching them without huge confusion or confrontation??

I genuinely would like an answer as to how you parent your children and what were the results of your parenting techniques that you use on your children?
